What's included in my purchase?
1. Your neon
2. Electronic transformer
3. Hanging equipment
How long will my neon last?
The life of neon tubing depends on how much and how often it is used. The luminous tubes which we use usually last for 3 to 4 years, though in the right environment, a tube has the ability to last much longer.
All neon designs shown on our website are designed for indoor use only.
How long does it take to receive my neon?
Your design is built-to-order, so please allow for a lead time of 3 to 4 weeks minimum from the time of your initial purchase. Shipping time is roughly 7-10 business days depending on the season and your distance from us.
Does my neon include hardware to hang it?
Yes. Most neon we construct is mounted to an acrylic backing and all neon signs are shipped with the proper hanging hardware.
How do I clean my neon?
If you want to dust or clean your neon creation, always be sure to unplug the neon first. Then, use a feather duster or a soft, dry cloth to remove any dirt or dust from the tubing and fixtures. Never use a liquid cleaner on your neon.
Does my neon come with a warranty?
Yes. All our neon comes with a 30 day warranty on electrical components. However, this doesn't extend to any harm that may occur as a result of incorrect installation or to breakages that occur after the initial delivery.
Can I turn my neon on or off?
Yes. All electric transformers we use feature a simple on/off pull chain so that you can easily turn your neon off when it isn't being used.
How do you handle shipping?
All Mondo Neon is shipped freight or via UPS. We currently only ship to the United States. We package all goods in the most robust way possible.
Is neon dangerous?
Neon tubing is filled with two gases (neon and argon), both of which are inert and can be found in the air we breathe. Neon power supplies use voltages ranging from 2,000 -15,000 volts. All electric neon power supplies we use include safety features such as secondary ground fault protection (SGFP) and self adjusting output voltage that complies with all FCC regulations. The requirements outlined in UL 2161 were developed in order to protect neon owners from any potential fire hazard. To keep you and your guests safe, you'll want to hang your neon away from areas where it may be bumped or leaned-on, areas with heavy foot traffic or places where children may be playing. And, as with all electrical devices, do not hang your neon near water or moist surfaces.
How much does it cost to operate neon?
Neon is an extremely efficient medium. A normal neon sign eats up 0.9 amps. This equates to about 95 watts (equal to a single light bulb). So using your neon art will not change your electrical bill significantly, if at all.
Can I place my neon outdoors?
You should never place your neon that we design in an outdoor area where it will be exposed to the elements. The neon that we create is specifically constructed for indoor use only. When determining where to place your sign, please avoid placement near any audio equipment. If you are experiencing interference, try plugging your sign into a different outlet, away from your television or audio equipment. Exercise basic safety precautions when choosing a location for your neon and never operate in or near water. Do not place the unit on or near a heated area or open flame. Never operate a unit if it has a damaged cord or plug.
What does it mean if I hear a high-pitched tone?
Electronic neon transformers output a very high frequency. A high-pitched tone could be audible to some, but most likely not to others. This is completely normal.
My neon broke. Now what?
If your neon has suffered a break, unplug the power supply. The best thing for you to do is to take pictures of the broken portion or section and reach out to us. Keep in mind that once a particular neon unit is broken, the harmless noble gas immediately escapes into the air making a complete glass tube replacement the only solution. Please do not ship us any neon for repair without prior consent.
