James Akers is a neon artist and educator who has exhibited internationally and teaches neon at ACME Creation Lab, a maker-space in South Dallas for artists, builders, and mad scientists. James tells Mondo about his early glassblowing beginnings at Alfred University, the details of his day-to-day routine as a commercial sign maker and art handler, and the rapidly changing world of neon.
