Ever wonder where New York’s best neon sign treasures live? Or how neon signs give off its spectacular glow? Have you ever found yourself wondering how much fun it would be to tour these illuminated wonders of the city? Get ready cause Mondo Neon will show you the true essence of neon sign culture.

What to Expect

On this tour, we’ll start in the old East Village district of Manhattan, walk down Houston Street, cross through quaint Soho and finally end up in the West Village. You’ll hear the stories and origins of some of the most iconic shapes and business facades that epitomize one of the world’s most beloved cityscapes!

In between sign-seeing, we’ll pause at some truly unique food stops, including a visit to an Italian bakery, established way back in 1894, and a trip to a family owned coffee business selling 130 varieties of beans from over 28 different countries.

Things to Know

The tour group meets outside Black Seed, located at 176 1st Ave (between 11th St & 10th St).

Please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled time. Comfortable walking shoes and the ability to travel at a reasonable pace are a must. The tour lasts about 1 hour. Mondo Neon sign tours are guided tours; visitors must remain with their guide and group. Visitors are advised to be aware of their surroundings at all times for their safety. Photography is encouraged.

We recommend taking public transportation if you're coming from Manhattan, but if you're driving, there are parking garages nearby. No transportation will be provided to the start although it's an easy trip by foot or short ride back to the start in a taxi or car-sharing service.
